Make her yours: your boat's name on the bow

70–80% of our customers choose personalization, and it is one of our best options.

Tell us the name you want on both sides of the bow and/or the transom, and a hailing port if you like. Lettering is high-performance vinyl (not paint): it looks great, is very durable and lasts a long time. Various colors and fonts are available. Personalization adds about two weeks to the lead time.

Black-and-white photo from June 1963: Bruce as a boy (far right, waving) with his family jumping off his dad's converted Chesapeake deadrise
That's me (far right) on my dad's boat in June 1963.

On the Chesapeake Bay since 1954

My dad's first boat was a 28' Chesapeake deadrise, converted from workboat to basic cabin cruiser. I didn't know it then but my exposure to that boat resulted in a lifetime of boating activity, most of it centered around the Bay.

In 2017, I started Blackway Boat Models as a side enterprise, to offer a line of handcrafted wooden workboat models and matching miniature nautical accessories. We must be doing something right.

I purchased a boat for my husband for Christmas. I wanted to let you know he absolutely loves the boat and said it’s THE BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT HE’S EVER GOTTEN. Thank you for the fine workmanship!

Skipjack model is beautiful. Seller provided ultra-safe, double-layered shipping crate that was the best I have ever seen. Obviously designed by an engineer and someone who really cares about buyer getting his purchase in perfect shape. I couldn't be more pleased.
